Let us honor the past year by celebrating the joys and mourning the losses we have experienced, wondering with those we love about the meaning of all of it, and making a commitment to build connections with others as we move forward.
This is sacred work.
Here are some ideas that might help add meaning to this holiday time and the days & weeks to come:
Book a Legacy Film today. We can’t think of a better time and a better gift! We’re so excited that a few folks will be having a Sacred Stories gift under their tree this year.
For other great gift ideas, see the Holiday Gift Guide we created last year or our book reviews. Shop local when you can! We’re also rounding up more gift ideas for another Holiday Gift Guide, so send your suggestions our way.

Bring Sacred Stories to your next virtual or in-person event. Whitney Myers can speak to your church or organization about the making of our legacy films, recording and preserving your own stories, active listening, capturing the stories of those in the early stages of memory loss, and more. Contact Whitney for more information.
Reflect on 2020. What a year we’ve all had. Take pause, and reflect on 2020 & “life before Covid”. Imagine what possibilities might be on the horizon. Did the change in pace & routine in 2020 reveal new priorities for you? If so, which would you like to take forward? What losses are you grieving? What motivated & energized you? Use this simple one-page worksheet we created, and spend time thinking. You can do some journaling on your own, or use page 2 with friends & family as a game.
Create a 2020 Time Capsule. Check out the suggestions from this recent New York Times piece. You might even include the 2020 New Year Reflections mentioned above.
Get talking! We loved hearing the feedback you offered about the conversation starters we shared last month. Thanks to Dell Children’s Hospital, National Charity League South Austin Wildflower Chapter, and Oates Family Therapy, over 250 staff and volunteers received these jars filled with questions as holiday gifts. Get your own questions here or here. Or create your own! Let’s resolve to get to know the people in our lives even better this year. There is more to know about the people we know the very best.

We wish all of you connection & meaning for all of your days.
